Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition
ANTIQUE FARM EQUIPMENT MUSEUM

Back in the late 1980's a few dedicated individuals realised the importance of preserving a historical record of our changing farming way of life and work.  Today, with over 1000 items on display, the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Antique Farm Equipment Museum boasts one of the finest collections of old farm equipment around.

The objectives of the museum are to collect, save, restore, and display as much of our farm history as possible.

A new museum building was constructed in 2005 to house our growing collection.  Plans are now in place to construct a new building to replace the original home of the museum.  Our current focus is on fundraising, and any and all support for this project will be most welcome.

Operating times of the museum are as follows:
  • During the May car show
  • Exhibition week in August
  • Special events at the NSAC or NSPE
  • 4H weekend (when in Truro)
  • At any time during the summer months
  • at the request of a group or individual

Every day during EX Week 2009 we will be exhibiting Atlantic farm tractors, farm machinery and wagons; demonstrating shingle mill operation and old make-n-break engines.  In addition, the following will be featured:
  • Tuesday - Ross Farm barrel-making demonstration, quilters
  • Wednesday - Quilters, mat hookers, wood turning
  • Thursday - Pottery, spinners, quilters, Sherbrooke Village
